Project Idea Description
Context
In collective investment schemes such as funds, AMCs, AIFs and ETPs, the Net Asset Value (NAV) is the cornerstone figure that determines the value of each investor’s holdings. It aggregates all assets, liabilities, fees, corporate actions and investor flows into a single price per unit. This number decides how much investors subscribe for, redeem at, and how performance and fees are allocated. Because it is the financial “truth” that all investors rely on, its accuracy and integrity are critical.
Problem
Yet despite its centrality, NAV production is still largely built on manual, error-prone, non-transparent, non-verifiable, and non-standardized processes. Administrators and asset managers often maintain complex spreadsheet chains, reconcile data from fragmented sources, and apply valuation and fee logic through bespoke, undocumented steps that often result in exorbitant costs.
This structural opacity has broader consequences. When NAVs, fees and investor allocations cannot be easily reproduced or independently verified, trust in collective investment schemes erodes. Investors cannot see how their fees were calculated, auditors must reconstruct logic retrospectively, and regulators struggle to assess whether sustainable or impact-labeled products truly apply fair, transparent methodologies.
In the context of sustainable finance, where credibility and traceability matter more than ever, this lack of transparency becomes a systemic barrier, enabling mispricing, hidden incentives and even greenwashing.
NAVquant addresses this foundational issue by rethinking NAV production as transparent, verifiable financial infrastructure rather than an administrative afterthought.
Solution
NAVquant’s solution is to provide the collective investment scheme industry with a reliable, transparent and verifiable NAV calculation operating system. Our vision is to equip administrators, asset managers, and issuers with tools that make them more confident in their numbers and significantly more efficient, faster workflows, lower costs, fewer errors, and radically clearer auditability.
The first concrete step toward this vision is a cloud-based SaaS platform that automates the Net Asset Value (NAV) calculation. By packaging the calculation engine already developed into an intuitive web application, NAVquant turns today’s manual, spreadsheet-driven processes into a standardized, automated, and fully traceable workflow.
This creates a scalable foundation for further modules and ultimately a comprehensive operating system for administering investment vehicles in a reliable, transparent, and verifiable way.

Progress & Traction
The project is the natural continuation of the hands-on practice in the fund administration and AMC issuance industry of the team. A concrete step to make it into an independent and concrete project started about 6 months ago.
-
NAV calculation engine developed in 4+ years of practice, including benchmarking against professional fund administrators;
-
Interviewed 10+ fund managers, fund accountants, and AMC issuers to understand their process and their pains in detail;
-
Paid pilot project signed with an AMC issuer with 5+ billions in AUM;
-
MVP of the SaaS platform 95% done.
In one sentence
NAVquant is creating a radically transparent NAV and fee engine that turns today’s opaque, error-prone back-office processes into verifiable, machine-readable infrastructure, a missing piece for a trustworthy, scalable, and genuinely sustainable digital financial system.
Trust in financial products starts with one number: the NAV (Net Asset Value).
Yet today, most NAVs are still calculated in a mix of fragile spreadsheets, behind closed doors, with no visibility on the process.
NAVquant changes that, building a transparent, automated, and verifiable “NAV engine” for modern investment products such as Actively Managed Certificates (AMCs) and Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs).
By turning NAV and fee logic into explainable, machine-readable code, we radically increase transparency and trust in financial products while saving issuers tens of hours per calculation.
