Challenge Description
We are looking for ideas and solutions to the challenge of developing sports & mountaineering ropes from bio-based raw materials of polyamides or comparable products.
In contrast to ropes made of virgin materials (Polyamide), the challenge in developing biobased ropes, is to find the right biobased substitute to meet the technical and certification requirements of a climbing and/or mountaineering rope.
Expectations
- Exploration of the innovation field "biobased mountaineering ropes" e.g., material potential analysis, availability of materials in industrial application, technical specifications of materials, raw material costs, recyclability, LCA analysis, creation of first prototypes.
- Identifying consumer needs and expectations for bio-based climbing & mountaineering ropes.
- Unbiased consideration of the challenge.
- Validation of the ideas and solutions developed - this can also take place in a workshop with the Mammut development team.
