Full Recycling of Thermoplastic Composites

Challenge Metadata

Challenge Description

Even if with the use of pyrolysis, a commercially available recycling method for carbon fiber reinforced plastics already exist, this still has some serious shortcomings:

Therefore, we are looking for ideas to fully recycle manufacturing waste and post-consumer end of life products made of carbon or glass reinforced thermoplastic polymers. As the producer of these products, Kunststoffwerk AG Buchs (Brand for composites “svismold”) would also have the possibility to add design features or introduce material changes to facilitate the recycling of the products, therefore also ideas in these domains are welcome.

Implementation Partner: Kunststoffwerk AG Buchs / svismold

Kunststoffwerk AG Buchs has been developing and manufacturing specialised precision injection moulded products for over 40 years. Since the establishment of our company in the 1970s, automation has played a decisive role. As a manufacturer of non-metal measurement tools, “svismold” can draw on decades of experience in the field of metal replacement. Together with our research partners and supplier network, we tailor swift and practical solutions to your needs – stronger together.
