Event Description

Axxam is hosting an outstanding panel at the SwissBiotechDay2025 in Basel on ⏰ May 5, 15:30-16:15, room Marriott 1+2.

'Small Molecule Lead Finding for Challenging Targets – Lessons from GLP-1 Receptor Modulators'.

G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) are not only one of the largest classes of signaling molecules in the human genome, they are also serving as target receptor for about one third of approved drugs. Sensing a great variety of different ligands from protons to proteins they also differ greatly in the likelihood to identify small molecule modulators (‘druggability’). The panel will discuss past learnings and opportunities of our growing tool box in discovery research to tackle difficult GPCR and other targets.

The Axxam panel with moderator Joerg Hueser and expert panellists Zoë Johnson from M2M, Frederic Bassilana from Novartis Biomedical Research, and Michael Hennig from leadXpro will share insights on overcoming previously assumed undruggable challenges in drug discovery
