Project Idea Description
Project idea description
- What problem would you like to solve?
Traditional vision: chalet/mayen/rusticos.... where the costs that goes on the ground is at least equal to what goes above the ground.
Thus they are
- are resources and finance intensive
- not ecological /sustainable
- have an heavy footprint being built into the land
Heima cabins a new building paradigm for wooden homes:
- Light-footprint policy with assessable sustainability impact
- Reconfigurable home through a modular and plug-in system
- 25% less building materials per habitable sqm
- Who are the customers and how will they profit from a solution?
Our customers are:
- Privates looking for secondary home
- Real-estate investors
- Swiss Campings
- Younger generations looking for a minimalist living solution
We want to start from the Swiss market but then expand globally.
- How does your project idea affect energy savings or CO2 emissions?
As anticipated in the solution section each of our homes will deliver a quantifiable sustainable impact (we are currently running an LCA through our 650.000CHF Innosuisse project and building it with BFH). Furthermore, we use 25% less of building materials allowing us also to save Co2.
A quantifiable result will be delivered from our side once the Innosuisse is done.
Current status and previous activities
- What has been tried before? What was not successful? What have you learned?
We have now build 3 prototypes of our infrastructure and we are currently upgrading it through our research.
We have used too much wood to build our homes and we have realised we can save resources with optimised buildings.
Resources needed
- What are your planned work packages?
- LCA of our cabin
- Definition of framework for CO2 analysis
- Go to market with our product
- How can the Energy Lab help you?
The Energy Lab can be of great help in defining a framework for a quantifiable CO2 analysis and support us and BFH ind defining it.
Through a consistent and measurable sustainability commitment and a combination of traditional building techniques and cutting-edge improvements we aim to deliver in the Swiss market the most resilient and affordable tiny houses.
We design, build, and supply the most sustainable tiny home present on the Swiss market. They are thought for remote areas and ready to use both as a home or a holiday escape.
