Project Idea Description
Project Idea Description
- Problem to Solve: Transport makes up a third of all CO2 emissions in Switzerland, and a big share of this is caused by the daily trip to work by employees. Your employer often does not know how you commute to work, but soon will become reliable for the CO2 emissions your commute causes!
- Triply aims to help companies collect data on corporate mobility, prepare reports, and plan strategies to improve their corporate mobility situation. Using triply, companies can save time and money while making commuting more sustainable.
- Product Description: Triply offers a comprehensive platform designed to perform in-depth mobility audits for corporations. Our platform uses advanced algorithms and machine learning models to analyze vast amounts of data, including employee commuting patterns, company locations, available transportation modes, and external factors such as traffic congestion, public transportation routes, and seasonal variations. This detailed analysis generates actionable insights to help businesses optimize their mobility strategies and reduce both costs and emissions.
Key features include:
- Emissions Reporting: Automatically calculate Scope 3 emissions from commuting, which are essential for compliance with sustainability reporting standards like the EU CSRD and the Swiss Ordinance on Climate Disclosures.
- Mobility Optimization: Provides tailored recommendations for reducing CO2 emissions and identifying areas where companies can reduce costs, e.g. optimizing the use of public transportation, promoting carpooling, and integrating alternative transport modes such as e-bikes and shuttle services.
- Scalable Solution: Designed to be easily implemented across different locations and adaptable to varying corporate needs, making it a flexible tool for companies of all sizes.
- Customers and Benefits: The primary customers include large corporations, mobility service providers, consultants, and the public sector. These stakeholders benefit from automated, precise analyses and recommendations for improving mobility efficiency, reducing CO2 emissions, and complying with emission reporting regulations. This contributes to cost savings, compliance with sustainability mandates, and enhanced attractiveness as employers.
- Transformation in the Mobility Sector: Triply facilitates a significant transformation by providing a tool that automates the complex analysis of commuting patterns and suggests actionable, sustainable mobility solutions. Currently, mobility analyses are often done by consultants with lots of manual work involved, so projects take a long time between kickoff and actual implementation, and are very cost-intensive. Using a data-based approach, we can speed up mobility projects to facilitate a new area of corporate mobility. Our tool allows companies to make informed decisions to reduce their carbon footprint, optimize mobility costs, and contribute to a more sustainable and efficient transportation ecosystem.
Current Status and Previous Activities
- Previous Attempts and Learnings: Prior initiatives have been focused on manual analyses by consulting firms, which are time-consuming and expensive. Triply's automation and precise analysis software is based on research done in collaboration with the z_gis institute at Paris Lodron Universität Salzburg and Universität St. Gallen. Users don’t need specialized know-how to use our tools, which establishes Triply as a potential technology leader in Europe. First successful pilot projects, underscore the demand for scalable solutions in corporate mobility analysis.
- Resource Efficiency: With a lean team and a low burn rate, we maintain operational efficiency. However, our current MRR remains low as we scale, and we see Switzerland as a crucial step to drive SaaS adoption and start to scale our revenue model. In the next year, we aim to validate our SaaS MVP in Switzerland and develop necessary adaptations to our system to better fine-tune it to a SaaS use-case.
Strategic Focus on Switzerland & Resources Needed
- Although not an EU member, Switzerland's 2024 Ordinance on Climate Disclosures aligns closely with EU regulations. Its advanced transport infrastructure offers an ideal setting to optimize corporate mobility and refine our solution. Establishing a strong presence here will also provide a solid foundation for future expansion into markets like Italy and France.
- Planned Work Packages: With this grant, we aim to expand our product offering to the Swiss market, at the same time we want to take this opportunity to transition away from project based revenue and introduce our product as a recurring SaaS model. The main focus will be:
- Crafting a compelling market entry strategy and carrying out the official market launch to test our value proposition and attract early adopters.
- Identifying and collaborating with multipliers in the Swiss market (e.g., mobility service providers, consultants, public sector) to facilitate a rapid and efficient market entry.
- Support from the New Mobility Lab: We seek expert advice on product-market fit in Switzerland, including recommendations for features that will resonate with Swiss customers as well as help in fine-tuning our product to better fit a Software-as-a-Service use-case. Guidance on positioning and crafting messaging that appeals to the Swiss market would also be invaluable.
Triply's innovative approach to automating mobility audits positions it uniquely in the market to address the growing need for sustainable corporate mobility solutions. With a strong technological foundation, an expanding customer base, and a clear strategy for growth and product development, Triply is poised to make a significant impact in transforming the mobility sector towards sustainability.
Triply is tackling corporate mobility inefficiencies and CO2 emissions by automating analyses to recommend sustainable commuting solutions. Serving corporations and the public sector, it aims for cost savings and reduced emissions. After its first successful pilot projects, Triply plans to switch to a SaaS offering and expand into Switzerland.
Partnering with the New Mobility Lab, it seeks expertise for product refinement and market entry strategy, aiming to lead in sustainable mobility.
