Our project aims to revolutionize sorting and end-of-life (EoL) management for the fashion industry by developing an AI-driven solution that automates sorting, streamlines decision-making, and optimizes circular pathways for pre-owned products. Currently, brands face costly, inefficient manual sorting processes, leading to inconsistent categorization and a high rate of valuable materials ending up in landfills. Our solution addresses this by creating a centralized data repository to drive AI-powered assessments, providing precise sorting recommendations based on each product’s condition and potential for reuse, recycling, or repair. 

The project’s core components include building a comprehensive database that captures data on material inputs, outputs, supply chains, environmental impacts, and cost metrics.  

Through this digital approach, we aim to reduce waste, lower operational costs, and extend product lifecycles, ultimately advancing circularity in the fashion industry and aligning with EU sustainability regulations. This project sets the dataset for trading the machine learning technology and enable Ai sorting for circular in fashion waste management.  

AI-powered image assessment to evaluate the condition of returned items accurately, allowing precise decisions about whether they should be recycled, reused, or redirected to the second-hand market. This process improves the efficiency of circular systems, creating high-quality feedstocks for recyclers and second-hand markets.
