Project Idea Description

We would like to explore solutions that integrate 3D design marketplaces and virtual wardrobes to solve the fashion industry's pain points of overconsumption, overproduction, and lack of visibility into post-purchase product usage.

The fashion industry faces a significant challenge: customers buy clothes without fully considering what they already own, leading to waste and excess production. Brands, in turn, struggle to gain insights into how their products are used after the sale, missing opportunities to adapt production to actual consumer behavior.

To address these issues, we propose a digital marketplace where fashion brands can sell 3D designs of their products alongside physical items. Our platform will facilitate transactions by integrating with the brand’s POS, e-commerce systems, and even live-streaming during fashion shows. This marketplace will connect seamlessly with the customer’s virtual wardrobe, where all 3D fashion purchases are stored, allowing users to dress their avatars, track their items, and resell or recycle with ease.

For example, when a customer shops at H&M and purchases jeans and a T-shirt, they will be offered the option to pay a small additional fee to own the digital version of these items. These 3D pieces will be automatically added to their virtual wardrobe, where they can interact with their collection, mix and match outfits, and even resell or recycle items without needing to upload pictures. This seamless integration will not only promote mindful consumption but also make it easier for consumers to make informed choices about future purchases.

By creating synergies between the 3D design marketplace and the virtual wardrobe, our solution aims to reduce overconsumption and overproduction without compromising profitability. Fashion brands will benefit from:

Customers, on the other hand, will gain:

Through our solution, we aim to address the critical pain points in the fashion and lifestyle industry by promoting sustainability, efficiency, and consumer awareness, all while enhancing profitability and creating new revenue streams for brands.

NIF aims to create an innovative/digital marketplace that will disrupt the fashion industry, and its customers' lifestyles and connect physical and digital in a new dimension.
