Project Idea Description
How can we create a Digital Product Passport Solution (DPP) to enhance product transparency, authenticity, and traceability throughout its lifecycle?
Is Near Field Communication (NFC), QR codes, and/or RFID technology the answer for physical products' marking? The DPP has to securely connect physical products to their digital counterparts—referred to as digital twins—that can be or should be stored on public blockchains. These encrypted links ensure that each product’s data, including its origin, materials, production process, and recycling information, can be accessed securely and reliably.
Following the EU regulation (https://data.europa.eu/en/news-events/news/eus-digital-product-passport-advancing-transparency-and-sustainability), which should come into force in 2027, the DPP should provide tamper-proof, trusted records of every product detail. This setup offers consumers detailed insights into the products they use, encourages informed purchasing decisions, and facilitates seamless brand-to-customer communication.
Additionally, how could we insert into a DPP solution key features like an AI Agent that delivers dynamic customer support and drives upselling and cross-selling opportunities, benefits and perks, ultra-personalized VIP discounts and experiences, and the opportunity to capture a message of love forever? This intelligent interface, powered by AI, should provide instant responses to user inquiries—covering everything from product manuals to detailed ingredient and allergen information—while also suggesting complementary products. This should take place in writing and via voice? How?
Which AI models should we use? Which blockchains? Which sensors? Where should we place all of these? Who owns the data? How do we integrate all of this into a company's legacy infrastructure?
