Project Idea Description
GRETA will be an innovative AI-supported decision-support tool designed specifically for early-stage circular and sustainability assessments in the building sector. It addresses the current gap in the market for rapid, intuitive, and cost-effective evaluation tools that architects and engineers can leverage during preliminary design and project phases. By integrating a Circular and Sustainable Building Framework with key indicators and parameters for life-cycle assessment, circular costing and life-cycle costing, GRETA enables a quick comparison of multiple project scenarios, taking into account the level of digitization and data availability typical of the preliminary design phases.
GRETA will be integrated directly with digital platforms that provide real-time data on the availability of reusable and circular materials and material passport (such as Salza, Madaster Services Switzerland and the Swiss Circular Construction Digital Ecosystem). This connection is pivotal, as it enables GRETA to offer immediate and realistic assessments of the best circular and sustainability scenarios, even with minimal preliminary data. This agile approach empowers smaller architectural and engineering firms, allowing them to confidently integrate circular economy principles and sustainability criteria into their projects from the earliest stages, bridging theoretical goals with practical material availability. Furthermore, the tool and its results can also support public administrations and non-technical stakeholders in evaluating project proposals and circular strategies, making circularity more transparent and accessible across the entire decision-making chain.
GRETA4B is an AI-powered decision-support tool for early-stage project definition circular and sustainability assessments in the building sector.
It enables architects, engineers, and public stakeholders to evaluate and compare multiple design scenarios using real-time data on reusable materials and key lifecycle indicators. By integrating with digital platforms and material passports, GRETA4B bridges the gap between circular ambitions and market reality empowering informed, cost-effective, and circular decisions from the very first design steps
