Project Idea Description
PANATERE is a Swiss raw materials processing company, recognized in the watch industry which has as the objective of producing 100% recycled and recyclable stainless steel by combining the short circuit with the economy circular.
PANATERE wishes to demonstrate and contribute to significantly reducing the carbon footprint of standard manufacturing of secondary steel. Already surrounded by several partners ready to join the common effort, the company is recovering and recycles the scraps - waste or shavings - of steel remaining from the production of watch components. This requires the setting in place of a system for collecting steel waste and sorting it in strict accordance with established specifications, before the fonts and formatting steps. It thus tends to produce recycled steel reducing by 10 times the carbon footprint compared to the standard situation.
PANATERE wishes through its recycling process which would allow the melting of small quantities to bring flexibility and tailor-made service to its customers while reducing its environmental impact. By recycling 100% of its steel, PANATERE provides a solution that allows it to ensure its industrial responsibility as a player in transition, from an economic but also social point of view (recycled steel makes it possible to no longer be dependent on work mining) and environmental by eliminating from these processes the chemical reagents usually used and guaranteeing short circuits.
PANATERE aims to go even further by producing its steel without grid energy, in a solar oven, which would reduce by 165 times carbon footprint compared to standard production.
OUR GOALS
- Produce 240 tons/ yaear from 2015 of 316L grade 4441 stainless 100% recycled and solar steel.
- Create a model guaranteeing excellence in the quality of recycled steel and promotion of a business model based on the circular economy and circuits short while aligning with market prices.
- Become a benchmark as a responsible player, a pioneer in the manufacture and recycling of bio-components.
- Enable discussion and contribute to awareness and education as that an eco-responsible company
Since 2 years, we have been developping a disruptive production of solar steel.
Coming from the steel scrap collection from local industries, the steel will be melted in a solar furnace, then rolled into bars in accordance with the most demanding characteristics and specifications of watchmacking and medical industry in particular.
The goal is to create a circular economy, sustainable and local.
Our solar steel production would reduce the carbon footprint by 165 times that of standard steel.
