Project Idea Metadata

Project Idea Description

Building awareness of history and (carbon) emissions of Foodproducts is an increasing need of todays customers. One of the biggest Emissions goes back to the cultivation, production and supply of food products. To get informations about history and emissions as a customer, you need to get the informations about Products by yourself or trust the sustainability- and fairtrade Labels if available. Standards for defining emissions and reporting them on individual products are not yet available. We also see a lack of information when it comes to obtaining the origin of the information reported.

MyFoodprint works as a Programm with 4 Steps to build transparency and trust with high quality Data in the Supplychain and provide consumers the opportunity to influence their own "foodprint", directly in the supermarket.

Step 1: Building Transparency - Generated with a high level of automation in the Supplychain and the use of new technologies like Blockchains and IoT.

Step 2: Awareness - Confronting consumers in the Store with a statement of emission levels, through a prominent "CO2 score" on products.

Step 3: Behavior change - Offer access to the generated data of the consumption behavior by presenting the own "foodprint" to the consumer.

Step 4: Conservation - Record achievements, maintain motivations, and reward climate-friendly shopping with "climate tokens".

Current demand

Challenging the Idea by Experts and building a workable MWP to test the statements of Step 1.

MyFoodprint aims to create the opportunity for consumers to influence their own carbon footprint directly while shopping and to anchor the focus for climate emissions in the shopping experience. This is based on creating transparency throughout the entire supplychain and generating trustworthy and traceable data.
