The performance of buildings, in terms of energy efficiency and carbon emissions, is mainly defined at the design stage.


However, with todays' design process, and especially with the Building Information Modeling (BIM) process, engineers and architects lack tools adapted to these new design methods.


With the online app EcoBIM we aim to develop an innovative openBIM plateform, based on the latest technologies and compatible with any file format, allowing professionals to collaborate efficiently to design sustainable buildings.


We aim to reduce buildings embodied carbon emissions by up to 30%, and ease the process to design energy efficient buildings.


Our plateform will also propose building owners to set targets and be able to review the design, construction and hand-over, and to follow the real-time performance of their building.


We are currently exploring new openBIM technologies and frameworks (IFC.js, Speckle.systems) in order to develop the prototype to import files from any CAD software.


In the Building Information Modeling (BIM) process, engineers and architects in Switzerland lack tools adapted to these new design methods.
