Project Idea Description
Engineered yarns, a domestic appliance, and a digital ecosystem that enable consumers to construct and de-construct garments at will. Unlike existing circular approaches (mechanical recycling, chemical recycling, resale), m4d operates at the fiber level without destroying the material. The goal is to maintain yarn quality over 20 or more regeneration cycles, effectively eliminating textile waste from the household.
Critically, the system asks nothing of the consumer. There is no trade-off between sustainability and personal style: users choose from an unlimited library of designs, tailored to their measurements, renewed as often as they wish. The environmental benefit is a consequence of the experience, not a constraint on it. This removes the behavioural barrier that limits adoption of every existing sustainable fashion model.
